Solution Overview
The Matrix Headlight validation solution from GigaDevice is based on the GD32A71x series MCU, which complies with the ASIL-B functional safety standard and the Evita-Full + SM2/3/4 information security standards. The solution supports a wide voltage input range of 7V-18V and utilizes the GD33 series automotive PMIC to power the MCU and onboard peripheral chips, with an embedded watchdog and over-temperature protection. The validation board includes boost/buck converter chips for driving LED light strings, with driver voltage configurable via SPI communication. Communication with the matrix headlight controller is achieved via the CAN bus, enabling precise dimming control of each individual LED. The board includes 1 motor driver for controlling the headlight cooling fan and features 2 CAN/CAN-FD and 1 LIN communication interfaces for receiving information from sources such as driver operations, emergency braking, cameras, and LiDAR, facilitating automatic headlight control. The board integrates 4 high-side and 2 low-side drivers, providing scalability for future expansions.
