Overview

GigaDevice's all-new MCUs adopt an advanced automotive-grade process, adhering to automotive-grade design concepts and production standards, meeting the high reliability and stability requirements for automotive applications. With balanced performance, a wide range of peripheral interfaces, and enhanced security features, GigaDevice automotive MCUs offer a mainstream development choice for various automotive electrification scenarios, including body control, automotive lighting, smart cockpits, assisted driving, and motor power systems.

Product Series

  • GD32A7 series of automotive-grade MCU feature ultra-high performance ARM® Cortex®-M7 core, offering a variety of models including GD32A71x, GD32A72x, and GD32A74x. These MCUs integrate excellent performance, enhanced security upgrades, and a rich set of peripheral interfaces, ideal for various electrified automotive scenarios such as Body Domain Control (BDC), Body Control Module (BCM), Battery Management System (BMS), On-Board Charger (OBC), T-BOX, chassis applications, vehicle lighting control, DC-DC conversion, etc. This further expands GigaDevice's product portfolio in automotive electronics domains.

  • The new GD32A5xx series MCUs adopt a 40nm automotive-grade process and high-speed embedded flash (eFlash) technology, ensuring seamless integration between R&D and manufacturing through Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and full test vector coverage, which enhances yield rates and reliability to meet the stringent demands of the automotive market.

    The GD32A5xx series MCUs are developed based on the AEC-Q100 Grade 1 reliability and safety standards for automotive electronics. The wafer fabrication, packaging, testing, and production supply chain management have all been certified according to the IATF 16949:2016 automotive industry quality management system standard. A zero-defect quality control concept has been introduced at all stages of the process, with a particular emphasis on preventive system control and process control, ensuring product quality.

    Notably, the GD32A5xx series MCUs fully utilize GigaDevice's independently developed IP library design, which includes various high-quality and highly reliable digital and analog IPs that have been validated through the mass production of hundreds of millions of units. This not only enhances the stability and consistency of automotive-grade products but also maintains seamless compatibility with other series within the GD32 family, reflecting the ongoing innovation and leadership of the GD32 product line. The GD32A5xx product lineup offers 20 models across 4 package options.

    Thanks to its many outstanding features, the GD32A5xx series MCUs can be widely used in various automotive scenarios, such as body control systems (including windows, wipers, air conditioning, smart locks, electric seats, electric tailgates, ambient lighting, and dynamic taillights), automotive lighting systems, and motor power systems. Additionally, the GD32A5xx MCUs are suitable for smart cockpit systems, including dashboards, in-car audio, entertainment systems, central control navigation, and in-car wireless charging. With excellent safety monitoring mechanisms, the GD32A5xx is also applicable to certain ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) like surround-view cameras and AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems).
