Overview
The GD32F2 series, featuring high-performance enhanced Cortex®-M3 MCUs, comprehensively improves processing capabilities and adds new peripheral interface resources compared to the GD32F1. It strengthens application support for video imaging, LCD display, storage extension, and high-speed signal acquisition. It is also equipped with an enhanced hardware encryption module and security architecture.
The GD32F2 MCU series supports a maximum clock frequency of 120MHz. To address the resource overhead of multiple peripherals running simultaneously and embedded software protocol stacks, it is equipped with a large capacity of 256KB to 3072KB Flash and 128KB to 256KB SRAM. It features zero-wait kernel access to flash memory, delivering performance of up to 150DMIPS at the highest frequency. The code execution efficiency at the same frequency is 30% to 40% higher than other similar Cortex®-M3 products on the market.
The GD32F2 MCU series operates at 2.6V to 3.6V power supply and the I/O port can withstand up to 5V levels. It supports advanced power management with three power-saving modes. The built-in high-precision real-time clock (RTC) has a standby current of less than 1μA when powered by an external battery. The series offers 3-phase complementary PWM output and two 16-bit advanced timers for the Hall sensor port for vector control. It also provides up to ten 16-bit general-purpose timers, two 16-bit basic timers, and two multi-channel DMA controllers. Peripheral interface resources include up to eight UARTs, three SPIs, three I2Cs, two I2S, two CAN 2.0B, one SDIO port plus one 10/100M Ethernet controller (MAC). It is also equipped with a USB OTG full-speed interface supporting low-power LPM function, which can operate in Device, HOST, and OTG modes.
The GD32F2 series, perfectly compatible with existing GD32 products in both software and hardware, is ideal for market applications such as industrial control, human-machine interfaces, secure payment, in-vehicle devices, IoT, and more.
